Poetry Tea Time!

Hello there, today I’m going to talk about something fun that we started doing this year – Poetry Tea time.

It’s been such a great added feature to our homeschool. We look forward to read some fun Poems and have delicious snacks with tea. We are not tea lovers but it’s so fun and now we are actually developing a taste for it.

V is a book lover and I knew this wouldn’t be a problem at all, and she loves to drink from the fancy china. We didn’t even had the china, so we went to the store and picked each one our favorite tea cup and a tea pot.

Some days we have cookies with the tea, other days we make cake to serve with the tea.

We use those cake in boxes and add our own twist to make it even tastier.

The most important thing is to have fun! Want a few suggestions?

  • use fancy table cloth
  • dress up for tea time
  • make those cute little tea time sandwiches (even if it’s PB&J)
  • play classic music while having the tea (we sometimes do that too)
  • use a variety of poetry books
  • if you or the kids don’t like tea, drink hot cocoa, chocolate mil, milk, water, lemonade, apple juice or whatever else you feel like drinking – it really doesn’t have to be tea.
  • use a variety of poetry books

Want a few suggestion of fun poetry books we read so far?

Poetry Tea Time is such a great way to bond, and fun to  a homeschool reading routine. Hope you’ll give it a try and if you already have a Poetry Tea Time share with us what books you read and liked and other fun things you do, we would love to hear from you!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
